An Asymmetric Chignon Hi, I'm Danielle Valiente with Atmosphere Salon and our question is how to do an asymmetric chignon. Let's talk about asymmetric first. What does that mean? It means off center. So, we want to definitely create a chignon that's not in your symmetric center place, which would be the top of the head or the center. So, isabel marant shoes asymmetric could really be anywhere, off to the side on the bottom, off to either side on the top, just slightly off center, anywhere you want it that's not right in the center. So, I've chosen to do a chignon that's slightly off center to the left in line pretty much with her left eyebrow. And I've already secured it with a bungee, so that's nice and tight. So, grab a dressing brush, a bungee, get your hair into a asymmetric ponytail. We'll also going to use some bobby pins and some hairspray and let's get started. So, when you do the asymmetric chignon, you can wrap the chignon anyway you'd like. You can make it really tight and compact if you want to. For this, I'd rather have it have a little more of a runway kind of feel, a little fashion week kind of feel. So, I'm going to take my isabel marant sale dressing my brush, ruche hers just a little, just only more so so that I could see some of this wave a little bit more defined. And I'm going to take my hand underneath and just start wrapping the hair around the ponytail, just loosely and it's eventually going to lay a little bit flatter; so just more free flowing. I want it to be almost like a little hat that's just sitting off to the side. And then, I'm going to take some bobby pins that match her hair color and just go around the chignon and pin it so that it stays in place. And it's, it works best if you pin around as you move around. That way, it holds that much better. I'm just going to use a little bit of a finishing spray just to polish it. But, I want it to have almost the look of a little hat just sitting off to the side. As I mentioned, you can take it in any direction you want. I think the more important takeaway from this technique is where you should be placing an asymmetric chignon, which is anywhere off center. I hope you like this how on how doing an asymmetric chignon.
